Hello AvPU,
I want to take a moment and thank everyone involved in the revival of this game. I honestly cannot express how much gratitude I have to see my childhood up and running after not having played in over 8 years.
I have decided to finally try and install it with the new patches that were released, but I'm having some issues that I can't seem to figure out.
I am following these instructions (I forget where I downloaded it, but it was a link that x-M-x posted in an older thread):
Quote:-Open step 1->avp2_1 and click on setup when it asks for cd 2 click on browse and direct it to folder
avp2_2 then back to avp2_1 when it asks for cd 1.
-Open step 2->install these in order of:
avp2_en_096
avp2_en_mp1
avp2_en_sp1
avp2SMSInstall - *IMPORTANT* when you install this make sure to UNCHECK UPDATER before installing
-Open step3 move and replace "avp2.exe" to where you installed avp2. Default is C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2
This is your new exe make a shortcut of it.
-Launch avp2 go to Multiplayer internet when it asks for an update click ok and then server list.
-USING A CUSTOM RESOLUTION
Open "autoexec.cfg" with notepad located in you avp2 directory and change these values:
"SCREENWIDTH"
"GameScreenWidth"
"SCREENHEIGHT"
"GameScreenHeight"

For Step 1, I did everything in the instructions, and it seems to work, up to when its 100%, then I get this message:
Quote:Error Number: 0x80040702
Description: Failed to load dll: dsetup
Setup will now terminate.
No idea what this means, any ideas?

If it helps any to know PC specs, I'm running Windows 8. Don't think this should be an issue nowadays. If you need anymore information let me know.
