predator.abc (sp) to lightpred.abc (mp)

Tried to replace the lightpred model in MP. Hilarity ensued ...

Can anyone tell me why this keeps happening and if I can fix it? I'd like to have the pred model for the light pred instead ... but as you can see in the screenshot. It isn't exactly turning out as intended.

Use this guide: http://coty.ms11.net/tutsp2mp/tutsp2mp.htm

Looks like you might have to shift the predator up a bit in the crouch animation. That is done with Animation>Translation and then adjust the Y axis (+ a few numbers). You may need to do it for other animations too.

The biggest problem is the child models. You'll have to import them in/add them to what you are making the mp model.

Yea I made use of this guide earlier when attempting this. To be sure I carefully went through the guide once again ...

With as result:

Are you using the default predator textures?

You replaced arms for arms, torso for torso, etc?

Yup. Even went about and just loaded it as its very own mod with default textures.

For the child models, did you import the MP_pbase.ABC files and not the MP_mbase.ABC files?

With the skin looking weird, I think that's the issue with the piece info. You have to assign the correct texture indexes.

It's kinda hard to figure out the exact problem as it can be a variety of things.

I tried altering the texture indexes and dun dun dun ...

Thanks king!

edit:

I set the indexes correctly as they are set in the attributes and on the default pred model. Now it's switching in between missing parts upon entering, leaving and entering the server once again. I lol'd when I saw this ... I'm kinda gonna let this one slide. I've been trying just about everything.

Thanks for the help.

Glad to see it's somewhat fixed. I'm not sure on the arm texture disappearing. Huh

It's awkward ...

I attempted to recreate the issue but sadly I can't even get the same result. So I'm back to the missing foot. What's interesting is that whenever you load the MP model in SP or on your own lan server, all is well. It's whenever you join someone else his/her server that bits are missing.

Was wondering if you or someone else could give it a shot? I've been trying since yesterday and um ... I'm not getting anywhere lol.

Is the foot missing or is it sticking into the ground? If it sticking into the ground, the model needs to be translated up (positive) on the Y axis. This re-positions the model in the 3d space.

It's not missing when; you load it up in Medit, when you host a lan server / non-dedicated server or when you load it in SP. It is missing when going in anyone else's (dedicated) server. The model isn't sticking into the ground. If you want I can provide the file so you can have a look at it yourself. At the moment it's making not making any sense why this is happening.

No idea what is causing that.

I wouldn't be able to replicate the problem as there aren't any dedicated servers I could currently join.

I'm curious as to why you took the singleplayer predator model and not the multiplayer predator model as the mp one already works. It might be a good idea to compare them against each other to see what is different.

Figured I'd follow the guide first.

Just tried with the MP model. Same result. Makes no sense ...
