I dl'd the dedicated serv patch from here https://www.avp2msp.com/downloads.html and unzipped it but I've tried everything and can't get a hosted room to show up on the server lists. What could I be missing?

I also tried from here http://avpunknown.com/avp2files/servermods/tbbc_server_app_2.4.zip but that's just the same thing with all the game's rez files thrown in.

I am at a loss.

Hey

Should just run out of the box.

Make sure you put all that in a folder the 700MB one edit server data > unamed.txt to your server name.

Then edit serverconfig.txt for weapon settings etc

then Launch the avp2server.exe app.

Make sure ports are open 27888 (or any other port you want)

So the 700mb one...that goes in a DIFFERENT separate folder from the rest of AvP2 game install, you mean? Hm will have to try that next.

Well you can run avp2 servers without having the game installed, you did know this right?

Just dump it on a folder call it SOLIDUS SERVER or something

Edit your stuff

SERVERDATA > unamed.txt

And

Serverconfig.txt (Weapon banning stagger ban etc)

Pop to the discord (unless you're already there) good content and more active tech support.

Wink

cheers

well...I'll think about it. Never used that discorb thing before.

Is there some reason I can't take serv control and use the commands, even with the right password?

-- Have gotten it to show up on the list and was even able to join it, have made some progress with it. Still some niggles - can't change maps from the dedicated serv's own menu and the server app has taken to giving the regular windows "stopped responding" crash error msg instead of launching now. Maybe restarting the pc will wipe that.

Look for admin editor (small app)

Add you GUID in there and password, that is the new method now for taken server control.

Still should show on list if you open port 27888 and make sure everything is set right.
