Hi Folks, new guy here.

First of all, I want to thank KingKenny for his great AvP2 YouTube install guides, as they've helped me get AvP2 working in a stable state for the first time since I originally played it back on my XP tower. Right now both AvP2 and Primal Hunt are running flawlessly.

Well, almost.

When I start a campaign in AvP2, the keyboard controls work fine, but both the mouse and the touchpad (I'm playing on a Windows 11 laptop) are completely non-responsive. When I'm navigating menus they're fine, this only happens when I'm actually playing the game. This happens in all three campaigns (Marine, Alien, and Predator).

This issue does NOT occur when I'm playing Primal Hunt. The mouse works perfectly in that game. This issue is only happening in AvP2.

I followed KingKenny's instructions for installing the ISO version of the ALL IN ONE version of the game available from this site, as well as the Master Server Patch. Initially Primal Hunt would boot up but AVP2 would always crash immediately, so I checked out the guide here, downloaded dinput.dll, copied it into the game directory, and the game proceeded to boot up normally...but then I discovered the mouse issue when I tried playing.

Again, I consulted the guide here and found that mouselook can be affected after installing the Master Server Patch, so I followed the instructions: add "+legacymouse 1" (without the quotes) to the options in the launcher and check "Always specify these command-line parameters." Still no help.

More snooping, and I tried reducing my mouse's polling rate to 125 (Logitech G703 Lightspeed). Still no luck.

I also saw the suggestion that dinput.dll may fix the mouse issue, but (as stated above) I already added that file to fix thee crashing.

I also saw something about downloading and installing a DI wrapper, but I didn't understand what to do.

Finally, I made sure I had full admin control over the file folder that the game directory was installed in.

So, I'm at a standstill here, good people. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any questions that you need answered to help determine my issue, please ask away.

Again, this only affects me when playing AvP2. Mouselook works perfectly when I play Primal Hunt, which is very confusing.

If nothing else works, would re-installing the games without the Master Server Patch help (I've heard it can cause issues like this sometimes)? What kind of widescreen support does the base all-in-one setup have, if any?
