Hi All,
I downloaded Aliens Extermination from AVPUnknown.com & extracted the zip file. I installed DivX first however, whether I run abhRelease.exe & aliens dehasped.exe, I get an error that says, "Couldn't Load Shader". What am I doing wrong or should do to get it to run on my machine please?
Thanks!
Hi there,
This is a fairly common issue with the game. There are a few things you can try that may fix it.
**How to fix the error****Move the game to the C:\ drive** Make sure the entire game folder, usually named `PC` or `aliens`, is moved directly to the root of your main drive, for example `C:\aliens` or `C:\PC`.
**Check your path settings** If you're launching the game through a frontend or launcher such as RocketLauncher, make sure the directory paths in the configuration have been updated to point to the new location on the C:\ drive.
**Run as administrator** Right click the game's `.exe` file or loader and select **Run as administrator**. This can help if the game is having trouble reading or writing temporary shader files.
**Update your graphics drivers** It's also worth making sure your Nvidia or AMD graphics drivers are up to date, as older drivers can sometimes cause problems when compiling shaders.
You can also check out this thread, which covers the same issue and appears to have helped others get it working:
https://www.rlauncher.com/forum/index.php?threads/alien-extermination-bat-file-h...We simply host the ROM and soundtrack, so unfortunately we're not 100% sure what causes the issue. It does seem to be a known problem with the game though, so I would recommend trying the fixes above and checking the linked thread for some additional solutions.
Hopefully that gets it working for you.
Cheers,
