AVP: Evolution (also stylized as Alien vs. Predator: Evolution) is a 2013 third-person action title developed by Angry Mob Games and published for mobile platforms by Fox Digital Entertainment, with releases on iOS and Android and a later OUYA port. The game presents two interconnected campaigns—one played as a Jungle Hunter Predator and one as a Xenomorph—framed around a Super Predator faction experimenting with controlled Alien forces on LV-412.
Designed for quick missions and touch-friendly combat, the experience blends ranged and melee encounters, light progression, and short narrative beats between levels.
Gameplay is presented from a third-person camera with mission-based objectives built around combat arenas, traversal routes, and boss encounters. Players swap between two distinct playstyles: the Predator campaign emphasizes precision strikes, gadget-assisted hunting, and weapon loadouts, while the Alien campaign focuses on speed, close-quarters aggression, and brutal finishers.
The Alien storyline begins at the earliest stage of the lifecycle: you start as a facehugger, secure a host, then continue as a chestburster and ultimately a mature Xenomorph. Both campaigns support incremental upgrades, letting you improve core abilities and unlock stronger tools as missions escalate.
On LV-412, a Super Predator clan captures a Xenomorph Queen beneath an ancient Predator temple, intending to breed and condition Aliens as controllable weapons. Their methods are tested in the Temple Arena, where a captured Jungle Hunter is used as live bait to evaluate the reliability of their “trained” Xenomorphs.
The Jungle Hunter’s final warning brings reinforcements: a young Warrior from the Jungle Hunter clan is dispatched to disrupt the operation, but is shot down on approach and forced to fight through a Weyland-Yutani and Colonial Marine research complex to recover equipment and locate the temple. In parallel, an untainted facehugger escapes containment within the facility, beginning a rapid growth cycle that culminates in an adult Alien determined to reach the hive and free its Queen.
The two campaigns converge at the temple: the Alien confronts the Berserker Super Predator responsible for the enslavement plan, while the Jungle Hunter Warrior pushes into the hive to eliminate the Queen and prevent the Super Predator clan from weaponizing an Alien army.
The main campaign is split across Predator and Alien missions, alternating as the conflict unfolds across the Temple Arena, nearby Weyland-Yutani/Marine facilities, sewers, and the hive. Below is the mission order as presented in-game.
