My suggestion for a setup of maps would be in the first place to remove brokendream and all the primal hunt maps, then put korari, waterstation, pod and storageyard back in. Then we can start talking about the potential candidates.
I have only chose maps that are fully optimized for gameplay and performance, which means no fps lag, significant glitches and enjoyable gameplay for everyone:
My list would be composed of evac maps only since this is the game mode that is lacking the most:
suk stronghold 1 & 2
(evac) - kind of a mandatory choice since this map has been around for so long that is semi-official
evac_industry
- one of the best designed maps out there
toxic_feud
- quite possibly the best evac map
suke hadleyshope
- Imp worked on this map for the patch and its great
I would add
avp community gallery
and
jungle
if it werent for the massive sizes, but if people are ok with it then i say to include this 2 also
Now about my maps:
dm_storageyard
Well i guess i dont have to say anything about this map since it has been out for almost a year now and played daily on tdm. The map has been fixed. FPS increased by 20 and numerous texture and other bugs fixed. Only small details in the geometry where changed.
Now the maps that i had for patch 2.1
dm_temple
This is a tiny jungle map with a small avp-themed temple in the middle. Since the beggining i think avp was in need of a jungle and pred orientated map so i made this.
evac_moria
This is massive, very complex and very hard (for humans at least) evac only map. Humans must navigate through this cave system but fast enough to avoid getting killed by a danger that advances. I wanted this map to have a theatrical feel so multiple effects take place as the marines advance through the map all the way to the outside where the evac zone is.
All my maps where fully and thouroughly tested to make sure they dont lag event on older computers and so the gameplay is as balanced and as fun as possible

JP, korari, does have a problem though bug related... whats wrong with the ph maps? yes they suck lol but still better to have them in right? as for brokendream biggest avp2 map why would that need to be removed? i was on a server few days ago with 16 players max on that map everyone had a good time.
If your maps get put back in, then are they going to be added to UMP3 then ?
Love the screenshots man, you should make more LOTR Theme maps

storage and temple can go but i was serious about moria the other day. it has some special commands that it needs to work, and these commands only work on selected servers. If its run on another server its quite possible that it becomes full of gameplay bugs and thats not something i want.

Hey,
I made a news post on the front page trying to get everyone to vote in here. I'm hoping everyone really does vote.
I really don't know how to vote on this one. I'm very conflicted.
To me, the Primal Hunt maps should absolutely stay. I don't think they suck at all. I've had loads of fun on all of them.
As for putting in more custom maps, I want it if its going to be a lot. I would like UMP level of maps, but then it becomes an issue of re-uploading a HUGE file every time the MSP is updated.
If its going to be just a select few, like the best of the best. What are the guidelines we go by?
Obviously, the maps should be glitch free and run smooth.
But then do we just put in maps that are fair and balanced for all 4 species? Or do we put in the maps that are just the most fun to play? This to me will cause a LOT of disagreement. Competitive players will favor more balanced maps, where people like myself just care about the fun factor.
Or do we keep it split. MSP + UMP3 (cmon 00 lol) to avoid conflict?
EDIT:
Oh also, would custom maps mean welcoming custom textures/audo, etc? Or is it just the dat files?

Some people here might not expect me to vote that way, but I want custom maps included. But I do think they should be evaluated before being thrown in. I'd settle for only the best maps (that are fun to play) as well. Those should be masterpieces then.
I'm against voting for "balanced maps" because that cuts off a lot of fun maps. Also, people always bicker about balance since this game came out. No one can ever agree on balance. Most people think AvP2 is unbalanced in gameplay as is. How can you pick balanced maps when people complain about grenades, smartun, disc, lockon weapons, plasma spam, camping, etc.
I just hope that if the majority does vote custom maps in, we would consider maps since 2001. Not just recently made ones in 2014-2015. Some players here might be new to the game and may not have played a lot of the older maps. But the majority of maps came out around 2002-2008.
EDIT:
Either way, there is still a place for UMP3, I think. Those that want to go deeper into custom maps can then grab that. As I will if its made.

depending on any size limitations imposed on the MSP.
Prime example of my reasoning: The sUk maps are not balanced at all, they are very forgiving to humans and harsh on aliens but people really enjoy them and find this unbalanced approach fun.
Selecting maps based on balance is a waste of time i think, it only takes a little common sense to look at a map and go "This map has broken balance, x race just gets murdered." and thats fine for the worst cases but some servers run "All Weapons" which just kills balance outright for any map.
I believe a focus on fun and technical stability should be the priority.
