Hello,
I have installed the AVP2 AiO and Master Server Patch 2.4 and the game plays very nicely. I can join the any of the existing visible game on the master server, but I was wondering if it is possible for me to host my own games to play with friends on the internet.
When I "host internet game" and create a dedicated server, I cannot see it in the list of active server.
Am I missing something or is it just not possible?
(PS: I can see the game if I join it as a LAN game)

Unfortunately, after opening the port in the firewall and the router, it doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I’ll keep looking in case i missed a firewall rule or something.
Let me know If there is anything else worth looking into.

Thanks. Unfortunately, nothing did it. I even tried switching off the pc firewall and the router firewall, but still the same. I can see many servers (circa 40) but not my own (except in LaN).
I noticed this topic in the Faq:

“Q: Why can I host a server but I not join my own server?
This is caused by having different rez files specified on the command lines for the game server and the game client...”

As i don’t have any command line specified, i didn’t think much of it. But do i need to specific a specific rez?

Still haven’t resolved the issue as described (i have tried signing a different port to), but surprisingly other people can access my server! Myself, i need to join by LAN, but others can join by internet and see it in the server list...
I guess we can close this topic now as it allows me to play with others!

For posterity, you can always check if the port is working correctly by trying to connect to the port through a website, like canyouseeme.org. This way you connect through internet, not LAN. But you need to have the server opened first, otherwise the port is not being used by any process and nothing will reply to that website.
