How auto tracking (smart gun, grenade launcher) supposed to work?

Hi,

Just one question it's been bothering me for a while.

I thought that auto-tracking (smartgun or grenade launcher) suppose to work only on "moving targets".

But I did many tests (in muliplayer LAN) and even when Predator stays still - smart gun and grenade launcher tracks and locks-on.

Is this how it supposed to work? Or is it some bug?


Or maybe that's because nobody is ever standing still in this game? When you leave your character and don't touch anything, and then you look at that character from another character - your basic character just swings/looks around - it never stays still.

It will lock on anything it sees/detects.  (make sure the game is fully updated as well) previous patches would make the weapon behave differently.

Yea, me and my buddies had this discussion 15 years ago, and even now, people still test "the theory" on it.
We had a pred just standing still, and the rocket launcher did lock on. 

So yeah, very common.

Tough old World out there.
