AvP2 - FPS Problem [SOLVED!, WINDOWS 8 64 BIT]
Jan 24th, 2013 at 11:08am
Print Post Print Post
Hello guys, i was a pro player as Drone in AvP2 and after 4 long years, i restarted to play AvP2 with this community. I can play without any problem AvP2 in Multiplayer but my FPS are low, on average 18-24 FPS.

This is my Hardware:
GPU: Radeon HD 5770
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-UD2H
Windows 8 64-Bit, DirectX 11 (Windows isn't craked I buyed some days ago)

Some advices?

EDIT: Problem Solved.

"I got around the framerate issue by running the game in windowed mode.

I have found a few other older games that don't like fullscreen mode under windows 8, possibly due to changes introduced with directx 11.

To set the game to windowed mode add the following line to your AUTOEXEC.CFG:

"Windowed" "1"

Hmm not sure what 'the problem' is but try this

Right Click AMD VISION Engine Control Center
Choose Gaming performance > Mipmapping = What setting is it? highest?

Lower it play avp2 see what that does? if not working still try this method

AMD VISION Engine Control Center

> Image Quality

>  Anti aliasing ? change it lower or higher see what that does.

What Driver Version you running?

Has the game crashed in the past? a 'MFC' client crash ? what other mods you running?

Hey man thanks a lot, but my FPS are still low 18-24 but it's ok. Maybe because I have Windows 8 64 bit or maybe because i didn't buy the game. Thanks for help, it's just i miracle that it works on Windows 8 Smiley

Oh My God... IT WORKS! Now I have 150-250 FPS without any problems! It's beautiful :')
Now it would be great: 60 fps limiter [In single player because a can't see very well cutscene. It's too fast] and 60 fps in Fullscreen mode but it's just wonderful. Thanks!

Running the game in 'FULL SCREEN' then ?

Im sure you said you was running it in 'window mode' ?

Must be a windows 8 problem perhaps.

Long as you don't mind Tongue

--- interesting tho if this is a windows 8 problem or just a silly GPU error.
