I created a test server for the upcoming patch. People should try it out and post if they find any issues.

Current changes:

- Fixed some corrupt files in the last patch.
- Changed how 2D surfaces are rendered. Menus and other windows should have little effect on framerate now.
- Fixed ClearType for all fonts.
- Server: Fixed bad autobans on multi-client users.
- Added suk-hadleyshope by Imp Hunter.

I joined the server briefly.

Menus and windows run much smoother. I didn't notice any lag. Good job on this.

The fonts for chat messages are all messed up. The letters are all scrambled as if I'm using a keyboard with all the letters mixed around. Look at the picture:



You used a different language scheme or something?

I have one major complaint. When the game launches it forces the splash image to NOT stretch out and fill the screen out. This does not need to be changed at all. I'm playing on a 1920x1080 full HD screen. When the game launches I have a tiny little splash image pop up now. I always wanted the main menus to scale up to my screen, instead they're stuck at 640x480. Now you made the splash fixed at 640x480 as well when it always scaled up. This is backwards logic. If anything scale up for modern resolutions, this way we can make mods that have higher res backgrounds.

A file was missing. Downloading it again and extracting both files to your AvP2 directory should fix the font problem.

I thought the stretched image looks kind of ridiculous since it was designed for 4:3 screens. It should resize to 1440x1080 for your screen. I can revert that back if it bothers people.

Leave the splash as it was originally. Giving widescreen support was great, but don't start modding the menus/splash around unless it's to scale them up according to res. Yes it's a lot of work so just leave it as is.

But, changing the splash res to be fixed is a MOD and isn't a change to support larger resolutions.

why not take advantage of the work that has already been done in the past?
It could integrate within ?

talking of "costum resolution" a small file exe done in the past by Geran

As 'stated' before, this is a patch not a mod

Adding new textures even HD ones or changing the splash or editing game play etc is a BIG NO NO.

And will not be allowed.


As for custom resolutions, it's totally different what TBBC is trying to do. it's a lot of work not worth the hassle for the other things.

Right now, he's just fixing up the problems that was in 2.1, ans patching things.

Those are mods.......

AvP2 should remain default vanilla with the master server patch. However, adding maps doesn't alter the game.

To change something in a game to make it better/different is a mod... the term 'mod' also means 'Modification' you are changing the games sources.

creating new skins/mods/maps is classed as 'modding'

You actually believe 'changes' are not modifications?
