This is a quick one for all those who would rather play AVP Classic on updated graphics. This tutorial is on adding Mad_Max_RW's well done Redux mod to your game. Note that you should only try this on Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 (Steam or GOG releases).
***BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, MAKE SURE YOU'VE RUN AVP CLASSIC 2000 AT LEAST ONCE***

http://www.moddb.com/mods/aliens-versus-predator-classic-redux/downloadsDownload both parts to "AvP Classic Redux 2.0" (approx. 3.4 GB total). Once you've downloaded them, locate your Aliens versus Predator Classic folder. For Steam users, default location is YourDrive:\Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\Aliens versus Predator Classic. For GOG users, default location is YourDrive:\GOG Games\AvP Classic.
Open both .zip folders that you downloaded. Extract the contents of the .zip folders into your AvP folder. It will ask you if you wish to overwrite/combine folders. Click yes to all. The second .zip file contains a folder called graphics. Do NOT move anything out of this folder, simply move the entire graphics folder into your AvP Classic folder.
You're done. The game should now have hi-res graphics applied to all single-player and multiplayer levels. It should also give you additional multiplayer maps.
*Known Bugs*
The Redux mod is crash-prone upon completing levels and even leaving multiplayer servers. Mad Max gave a fix for it, which may or may not work for you.

Find AvP_Classic.exe and right click, select Properties
Select the Compatibility tab
Check the compatibility mode for Windows 98/Windows ME
Check Disable visual themes
Check Disable desktop composition
Check Disable scaling on high DPI settings
Check Run this program as administrator
Hit Apply and OK
Double click AvP_Classic.exe to run the game.
