In 2004, I created Aliens vs. Predator Unknown, now better known as AVPUNKNOWN. It originally started as a small personal project where I shared my custom skins and mods for Aliens vs. Predator 2 (2001), but over time it became something much bigger than I ever imagined.
The site had very humble beginnings. It first launched on Freewebs, which many old school web creators probably remember. Not long after, a good friend and fellow AVP2 skinner, gh0std0wn, kindly offered to host the site properly. That gave AVPUNKNOWN the chance to grow, and for the next few years we ran with a simple design that may not have looked fancy, but it was built with passion and dedication.
On January 23rd, 2005, we officially registered avpunknown.com, and that was a huge milestone for us. Long before social media communities became the norm, we had already built a dedicated home for AVP fans. With help from friends and contributors, we launched our second major version of the site, which stayed online until 2009. After that came version 3.0, which supported the community from 2010 all the way through to 2026. What you are seeing today is the newest version of the site, (AVPU 4.0 SITE) updated and refined while still staying true to what AVPUNKNOWN has always been about.
What started as one modder sharing content eventually became a major part of the AVP2 community. Over the years we have continued creating and preserving custom content, while also keeping dedicated servers running and maintaining the Master Server for both AVP2 and Primal Hunt. Because of that, multiplayer is still alive today for anyone who wants to jump back into the game.
AVPUNKNOWN became more than just a modding website. It became a place where fans could stay connected and keep the game alive. We are proud to support not only AVP2, but the entire history of Alien, Predator, and Aliens vs. Predator games across every generation and platform.

Aliens vs. Predator 2 deserves to be remembered, preserved, and played. As long as people are still out there hunting, we will continue to support it.
