Not sure how this thread came to be.. but who's ever 'bright idea' it was to slap ms patch with UMP3 is just damn right retarded... and if it happens i simply won't be hosting that.

The idea is the patch and a mappack (not just UMP3) is separate it's common sense and it's always been like that... why would anyone want those 2 zips into one is beyond me because they're clearly not thinking right when the patch needs to get updated.

Geran had already tried in the past to build a compact setup both AVP2/PH. download is fairly light 700 mb. even if the installation process was a little rudimentary but the idea was good.(expecially for noob users)
I also note that by incorporating the installation of the dlc you could also include sp1 and mp1 addition to the masters server pachs.
would be nice to also make compulsory registration not only to check for new users but also to be able to give you the chance to download new updates available or new mappack for example.

people are lazy we use this to our advantage.

I dunno what you are doing.00 just make UMP3 like UMP2.UMP2 is and was good and dont try something different.Put all maps into one folder nice.No need to put best,not this,make file smaller,bigger,with MS.You already maked UMP2 and it was great,now just repeat that with UMP3.If someone wanna/likes this he will download 80GB not 800mb of it,end of story!!!

I'd be happy with that.

Obviously UMP2 has some broken maps. I recall the bw maps having errors, lacking vision modes setup, etc. But if you're going to have to kill yourself over testing every map and removing the broken/buggy ones; then don't bother. If it's too much work to do all that, I'm perfectly happy with just combining all the new stuff on top of UMP2.
